Inspired by the work of American artist Leslie Pearson and her innovative use of gut as an artistic material, I was fortunate to connect with her through the possibilities of digital communication. Our conversations grew into a collaborative project in 2018, resulting in the creation of the lead sculptural artwork 'Canoe' for the City of Greater Geelong’s Extreme Art Walk. As with any new medium, I immersed myself in experimentation, exploring its qualities and possibilities. This technique has since become an integral part of my artistic toolbox, regularly finding its way into my mixed-media practice.
