The artworks on this page reveal my ongoing exploration of mixed media, bringing together materials such as seaweed, gut, metal, thread, stitching, wool and wire. I’m drawn to the tactile qualities and natural forms of these elements, allowing them to guide the structure and feel of each piece. A recent area of curiosity and experimentation has been metal textiles and metal fibres - melting, stitching, bending, burning and colouring these materials to discover new textures and expressive possibilities. Although I often begin with the intention of working in two dimensions, the materials themselves insist on movement and depth, regularly bringing the work to life in sculptural, three-dimensional form. My practice is driven by curiosity, texture and the quiet transformation that occurs when unexpected materials meet and evolve into something new.
